Temple

I pass this temple on my runs a couple of times a week. I have only ever been inside a couple of times in my life (not being of this denomination). The people who worship here believe in a pan-theistic universe. They worship many gods here. Worship services are frequent, a few a week, and often there is only standing room available.

They make good use of music in their worship services but the songs are very short and it seems not well sung. They are much better at speaking in tongues though. And congregants can frequently be seen jumping out of their pews when excited with the work done by their gods.

Unlike many denominations, children and young people are regularly seen and often very active in the worship life of the congregation.

Favourite bench

This is a favourite bench of mine. I love to take pictures of it. I have done so from many angles. In all kinds of weather. This is the first foggy day reflection image, I think.

Stroll in the Park

It was a lovely day for a stroll in the park. Foggy. Drizzly. Damp. Cool. Meant no one was around. It was calm. Quiet. Peaceful.

Toil

With aching hands and bleeding feet
We dig and heap, lay stone on stone;
We bear the burden and the heat
Of the long day, and wish 'twere done.
Not till the hours of light return,
All we have built do we discern.

New world order

It's great, after November 1st, we are finally allowed to bring our humans to the beach for a time of socializing. They seem to need this time with their own kind. But even here, they continue this crazy habit of picking up our shit in a plastic grocery bag and take it home with them. Hmm, just like they bring food home from grocery stores in these same bags. I wonder what they do with all our shit in these grocery bags? hmmmm.....

:)

Nuclear Kiwi

This kiwi was the source of great energy

Safety

Our wood pile at the cottage is well protected.

R.C. Harris building

These are a couple of other images I took of this amazing building a few months back.

Elsewhere

The boardwalk along the eastern beach area of Toronto. I'm not happy with this new editor system. I cannot get the plain vanilla look I had before. Although, it *is* close. I'll get used to it. I'm sure. Wish publishing directly from Flickr could give me this look.

Up North

It's not really "up north". But it is north of were we live. And it is breathtakingly beautiful.

Kim

A good friend. She's a natural in front of the lens.

Pick me!

So hard to choose just one!

Zig Zag

On the grounds of the R.C Harris water treatment plant in Toronto

Where are we going?

Where are we going? (Part of on an ongoing "industrial" theme)

Grocer

A green grocer's display

Toronto Café

A wee short visit at a lovely café while running some errands. It was peaceful and quiet here.

Melody

Karin on recorders, Claire on trumpet. A music workshop. There was a lot of beautiful music. A lot of singing. Not enough dancing!

A bygone era

This building holds great fascination for me. It is featured in one of Michael Ondaatje's great novels, In the Skin of a Lion. I read that book many years ago and since then have longed to see this building. A few months ago I took a series of pictures of it that might show up here soon (but are on my Flickr account in any case ;). I cannot help by go back and look for new ways to view this building complex.

I love that the building is built in the Art Deco style.

Take no notice

A walk along the beach of Port Credit on a quiet sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day and the park was busy and full of energy. The lake took no notice of this. It is its own master.

Memories

Today is supposed to be a day we remember. Remember the horrors of our past. And by that, be aware of the horrors in our present and the potential for horrors in our future.
